Week 32: Christmas Week

Well the biggest news is that I got to talk to the fam on Christmas which was awesome and it felt good to see their faces and hear their voices again. A couple different things happened this week.

1) We saw Santa get shot down. I'll send a couple of pictures and a video but we were driving to our dinner apointment when Elder Nordgren takes a look out the window and he's all like, "Holy Crap something just blew up in the sky, that's crazy!" So I pull the truck (more like half of it) off the road and hop out to take a look. We couldn't decide if we were seeing the beginning of World War Three, saw Santa get shot down or it was the beginning of the Second Coming. Well because we're missionaries we had absolutely no way of looking up what happened so when we went to dinner we asked them what happened. Apparently it was just a satellite rocket from the Space X program or something like that. Not even close to as cool as what we hyped up in our heads.

2) Some new investigators. On Christmas we had a lesson with a potential that we got a few days prior becoming a new investigator. We taught Xavier the message of the Restoration and he committed to pray about the things we had shared with him. He has seen many miracles in his life and knows the power of prayer can be very powerful indeed. Earlier in the week we gained two more investigators named Darrel and Sydney. We tracted into Darrel a few weeks ago and was receptive to the invitation of sharing a Christmas message with his family. When we asked if we could share a message with his family he let us into their living room where we stood and shared the restoration message. Sydney, the wife of Darrel, actually seemed a lot more interested in what we had to share and they both agreed to pray to know if our message about the restored church was true or if it was not. We're looking forward to returning to both households to continue teaching these new investigators. We pray that the Lord has been preparing them and that they will receive and answer through the power of the Holy Ghost.
3) We had a party after our district meeting on Christmas which was pretty fun! We had everyone bring different things to eat and drink. To cap it all off we had a companionship bring some great value Egg Nog that we used for a game involving cups and a ping pong ball. It was nasty and we played as companionships. Because it is the last week in the transfer we took a few photos and then headed out.

Really nothing too crazy happened this week. A lot of people were home and a lot of people told us to come back after the new year. Christmas morning we woke up and opened our presents and then began our missionary work. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and hopefully y'all saw more snow than we did.

Love you all!!
