Week 31: New Tracting Equipment

This week went by a little faster than last week which is surprising because we didn't have a whole lot of success. ALL of our lessons fell through the whole week so we spent almost all day everyday tracting and contacting people. It was a little rough. But we've been making the best of it and having a hoot of a time while out walking around.

Yesterday was the day that we were patiently waiting for. We headed over to a potential investigator named Ross with Brother Arnold from the ward. We had talked to him, or really we stood there and he talked to us for 40 or so minutes a few days ago and said that we could come back on Sunday. So we head over Sunday and he again begins talking to us for a good 20 minutes without the three of us saying much of anything but we finally asked if we could sit down inside and share our message. We learned that we couldn't ask him any questions or he would just go off again so it was one of the most simple and fastest restoration lessons that I have ever been a part of. Most of the time we ask questions to gauge their understanding but we figured if we teach simply enough he'll get it and the Spirit will testify of the truth of our simple message. He was in jail for a while and studied the Bible A LOT so that actually helped with his comprehension of what we were talking about in regards to prophets and scripture and God and Jesus. At the end he said that he was interested and would definitely read the Book of Mormon (which is what everyone says but I believe him a little more than the others). It's really interesting because he believes a lot of what we believe so I know that if he keeps learning more he will realize that this is the true restored church of Jesus Christ.

Elder Nordgren got a green laser (for missionary purposes of course) so now we use that to distract dogs as we tract and such. Maybe the people will think that the laser is attached to an M-4 or AR-15 and won't mess with us. As always I hope you all have a good week and continue doing what you can to light the world. Next week I won't be sending an email but the following week sometime I'll be able to catch up. Merry Christmas!!

Love,
