Week 80: Thanksgiving

Image
Well I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving that included a lot of Turkey and football. Normally we only get an hour for dinner but because it was Thanksgiving we were allowed to stay for three hours. We had dinner with a family that feeds us pretty often so we knew them really well and in between plates of turkey and potatoes we talked about movies and missions and stuff like that. It was nice to have just a little bit of relaxing time.  We had a cool experience on Friday. We had just finished eating dinner with a brother in the ward and we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do. A few weeks ago we stopped by a part member family and they told us to come back after Thanksgiving. To me that means like a week or so afterwards cause everyone knows that Thanksgiving really lasts until the leftovers are gone. Well Elder Palacios was adamant that we stop by this family because technically it was after Thanksgiving. We show up and the husband (the one who is not a member of the

Week 79: Bike Tricks

Miracle moment: Early in the week we were out tracting and we talked to this lady for just a couple of minutes. She is Asian and so we had to be simple so we left our phone number, the church times and address on a card with her. Well come Sunday Elder Palacios and I are sitting on the stand because we had to give talks and the sister missionaries were sitting next to her! After we went to mix and mingle and we got to talk to her for a couple of minutes. The sisters told us that they were walking into the church and saw a woman wearing jeans and thought that she had probably not been to our church before so they brought her in. She said that she really enjoyed it and that she would come back again next week. We're going to stop by and try to see her tomorrow. Other news: We set up our three foot Charlie Brown Christmas Tree and we're in full Christmas swing.  We got to go to the temple on Friday! It was a really good experience and it was nice to have a couple hou

Week 78: Tender Mercy Shop

Image
Honestly most of this week Elder Palacios and I were working at like half speed because we had colds. We are already pretty tired from biking hours on end but that mixed with our bodies trying to fight off a cold made us pretty slow. Tender Mercy Story: We were biking to our dinner appointment on Friday and as we were peddling along I caught a glimpse of something on my left so I made Elder Palacios stop and turn around so I could get a better look. We biked down into the little industry block and there was a tuner shop with 3 Lamborghinis and a handful of Audi R8s. A couple of them had there engines missing and we saw that they were being worked on inside the shop. See pictures Pretty much it for this week. Love you all! Love, Elder Puzey

Week 77: 77 and BAPTIZED

Image
Well I honestly don't feel like writing very much today so here's some highlights: Wednesday: No one came to our apartment for trick-or-treating  :( Saturday: The stake had a big old swap and shop that we were asked to help with for a couple of minutes and we snagged a storm trooper! Larry got baptized too!! So happy for him. I haven't been here very long but Larry is the man! His wife died pretty recently and he had a dream that she told him to go to church and then the next day he walked in and met Elder Petrie. Ever since then he's been looking forward to being baptized. He still has a lot of questions but he shows so much faith to press forward without all the answers. Larry is 77 years old so he doesn't bend very well so we were a little concerned about dunking him backwards. Larry asked the bishop to baptize him and we had Elder Palacios in the font to help bring him back up. Worked flawlessly!  Sunday: Larry's brother-in-law confirmed him and then
