Week 63: 63 and pregnant

Well I have been transferred. I'll be heading to the Chino zone. I'm no longer a zone leader and I'll be training again! I'll be in a YSA still. Don t have a lot of time but I'm super excited to be training and moving to a new area. Love you all so much! Love, Elder Puzey

Week 62: No Tiwi

Image
So some of you may remember me talking about the little black boxes that they have in all the mission cars? Well these little devil devices are called Tiwi. Couple days back we were driving up one of the more major roads down here in Rancho. It's a 3 lane each direction road and the speed limit is 50. We were mobbing back up to our apartment when all of a sudden a message comes up on the display that engine power had been reduced and it wasn't lying. We slowed wayyy down even though my foot was wrapped around the pedal I was pushing it in so hard. So we get over to the right lane and limp it to the mission office. (Luckily we were super close to the office, it could not have happened at a better time). So we go in and talk to the mission vehicle coordinator, Elder Newbury. The assistants were there and they drive a Silverado (there aren't a lot of Chevy's left in the mission sadly) and they recently had problems with it so we thought it might be the same problem. Well t

Week 61: YSA Ward

Mike was out of town in the latter end of the week so he wasn't able to make it to church so that's a sad day. We're pushing his baptism to August 19th so that way his mom can be here for it.  We also started teaching Kris and he's been coming to church for like four years and he's the step brother of a member in the YSA ward. We have been having a weird time with Jeremy. It's like a high school relationship. One day he's trying to drop us and then the next he's ready to get baptized. Then the day after he's back to not interested. We're trying to figure it out still.  We haven't really been able to get a whole lot going in the family ward we have but we got a lot of work going in the YSA so that's good.  Hope everyone has a fantastic Week! Love, Elder Puzey

Week 60: Happy 4th

Well this week Mike was able to make it to church! We also had Kris there, he's the step brother of one of the members in the YSA ward. We started talking to him at institute because we didn't really know the whole story. Turns out he's not a member and he told us he's been close to getting baptized for a while now so when we asked if we could start meeting with him he was all for it.  On the fourth we got to help with a Freedom Run which was fun. Sadly we didn't even get the slightest whiff of fireworks that night.  Saturday we were on exchanges and Elder Bryner came back to visit me! We even played some morning tennis just like old times.  It's been pretty hot out lately, on Friday we maxed out at 116 degrees. Luckily we had some planning and computer work to do.  I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. I'd challenge everyone to prayerfully consider one person that you can focus on to reach out to. Doesn't even have to be

Week 59: 14,500

So today I received a picture from the top secret sections of the mission. Y'all probably remember me talking about the little black box that we have in our mission cars that keep us from doing stupid stuff. The little black box is called Tiwi. Well we have to log in to the thing so that way HQ knows who's the one being a bone head. Another thing that it tracks is how many miles people drive. Well after only being out for just over a year I have now surpassed every other missionary in the mission. I've logged 14,500 miles since being here in California. I'll send a picture if I remember to. We met with Mike a couple times this week and he accepted to start working towards July 21st as a date for his baptism. Pretty exciting stuff. He wasn't at church yesterday but we're 99% sure it's because he went up to northern California with his member friend to watch someone get baptized. If there was ever any excuse for an investigator to miss church then I think
