Week 57: Pool Party and Elder Holland

Well we don't have a whole lot of time to email today cause we've been running around a whole lot with transfers and all. My new companion is Elder Willes and he's from Utah, I don't really know him and haven't served around him at all but pretty excited to have a new companion to breathe some life in these areas. He's been out for around 10 months so my streak of companions younger than me (both in literal age and how long they've been on their missions) continues. Not a whole lot of changes to the zone, a handful of people left and a handful came in. Tonight we get to house the two new elders that came right from the MTC so that'll be fun!

To send Elder Bryner off on the right note we went to a pool party last Monday night. It was the FHE activity for that night and we invited the two less active members we're working with to go and they had a heck of a time getting there but they made it and had a good time so that's what really matters. Sadly no one accidentally pushed us in but the food was good and the backyard was amazing. Guess I should have expected it since it was a big ol house on the hillside.

The week was pretty hectic since I was in a trio and had both areas to cover. But it meant that we always had something to do so that was nice. We taught a couple of our YSA investigators on Wednesday and on Friday we had the opportunity to help paint the inside of a house. Good times doing some service for non-members.

On Saturday we had a mission conference. So literally every missionary in the mission was at the Rancho Stake Center and we were able to meet with Elder Holland, Elder Soares, Bishop Causse and Elder Villar. We got to shake all of their hands and hear from them. It was a pretty amazing experience to be able to meet these servants of the Lord and receive instruction from them. I think it's definitely what we needed to redouble our efforts and be willing to open our mouths to everyone and find those that need the message that we have. Elder Holland said that we were a pretty good mission so I'm glad that we're not a bad mission haha. A little nerve racking but they all made us laugh when they spoke to us.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the world cup. We were stuck at Pep Boys for a little bit so we got to catch a little bit of the action on some Spanish channel. I love you all!

Love,
Elder Puzey

During our trio week we were on exchanges and Elder Bates and I were with Elder Bannarack. He's from Thailand and he's learning both English and Mandarin. He's also like a master of the universe because there really isn't anything he can't do/ hasn't done including riding an ostrich. He's a beast and it was a good day with him.
