Week 56: Elder Curtis

Well after emailing last week we went to the YSA FHE activity in the hopes that someone brought a non-member friend and/or some of the less-actives we're working with would show up. Sadly neither of those happened but we got to play some water-balloon volleyball which was pretty fun. Gave my shoes and pants a good wash.

On Wednesday I was on exchanges with Elder Martin in the Terra Vista ward. The day consisted of walking around ALL DAY. It was pretty unremarkable but we had some good conversations. His current companion/trainer is about to go home in about 7 weeks so I don't know if he's getting the fullest missionary experience with a trunkasaurus for a companion.

On Saturday we had a lesson with Jeremy and we had a recently returned missionary with us. We taught him in the church and then invited him to Stake Conference that night. He actually showed up which was amazing cause he told us he had a date (sorta feel sorry he got stood up but salvation is more important than romance). Well I don't know what forces were at work but after the Stake Conference where he heard from a 70 (Elder Curtis) and met the mission president he said he didn't really wanna meet anymore so that's pretty cool. I guess we really gave him the best chance of feeling the spirit and wanting to progress so not much more we could do.
On Sunday we had another YSA investigator at Stake conference. His name is Mike and he's down here right now doing summer sales with a bunch of his returned missionary friends. He's been to church twice now and his member friend, Adam, is super good at answering his questions and reading the Book of Mormon with him and everything. He said he really enjoyed Stake Conference (the 30 minutes he was there for) so that's good!

My companion just got asked to be the next office elder so after tomorrow I'll be in a trio with our family ward mates until next week. Sadly one of the Elders is sorta difficult to get along with but I love the other one so hopefully they balance out. Then I'll get to figure out transfers by myself which I'm actually really looking forward to. Some much needed independence for yours truly.

Well that's pretty much it from this week. I hope y'all have a good week and keep on keeping on.

Love,
Elder Puzey
