Week 85: That week between Christmas and New Years when you don't know what day it is

Well probably lots to update on since I didn't really feel like writing much last week.
Recap of last week in pictures:
1. We got arrested! Jk some guy got arrested outside and so the doors were locked and we had to bang on them to get in.
2. Christmas eve!
3. Trip to the mall!

This week was pretty good. Can't beat being able to FaceTime the family and talk. On Thursday we did our usual weekly service at the community farm and some of the other elders in the zone have been joining and we've started a tradition of going to eat lunch afterwards so all the Christmas gift cards have come in clutch.

On Friday we did some service for Larry. So Larry has an adopted grandson, a granddaughter and a grandson-in-law that live with him. He's getting pretty old so it's hard for him to clean and stuff like that. So we volunteered to help clean up the backyard in preparation for their new years party/BBQ. As we clean up the back porch and the lawn we got to talk to Albert. He's the adopted one, although I don't know why they call him the adopted grandson. Maybe one day I'll get the story. Anyways, Elder Palacios and other missionaries have talked to Albert a little bit before but as we worked in the back with him he talked with Elder Palacios and said he'd be interested in meeting with us! Yay for part-member families and yay for service! So last night after dinner we went by a family and asked the older son (close to our age) if he could come with us to be a fellowshippers and he agreed. Yay for member involvement.

Recently I've heard a few of the "bless the missionaries to find those being prepared" prayers which are great but it brings to mind something Elder Bednar said in conference a few years back.
"We properly pray for the safety and success of the full-time missionaries throughout the world. And a common element in many of our prayers is a request that the missionaries will be led to individuals and families who are prepared to receive the message of the Restoration. But ultimately it is my responsibility and your responsibility to find people for the missionaries to teach. Missionaries are full-time teachers; you and I are full-time finders. And you and I as lifelong missionaries should not be praying for the full-time missionaries to do our work!" (Ask In Faith, April 2008).
I think some members may not realize, or need to be reminded that we're all in this together! So please do everything you can to find people for the missionaries to teach. It'll make their day and remember "And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!" D+C 18:16.
