Week 81: Worldwide Day of Service

So on Saturday we had our world wide day of service. Our day started off by going to help a member of the ward move. Luckily their new place is still in the area boundaries so we didn't lose them. After helping them move we went over to Larry's house to help with some cleaning. He's pretty old so his ability to clean isn't stellar but he tries. He has to spend most of his energy keeping the front room and kitchen clean since none of his grandchildren and responsible enough to do it. Thus he has no energy to clean his own room. We spent about 5 hours there de-cluttering and getting things tidy. Then he took us out to eat at some chinese place and it was pretty good. Overall it was some quality time with Larry. Then we went to the church and we mopped the whole gym because ball is life.

Sunday rolls around and we finally taught someone new. Her name is Star and she's a referral from some other missionaries. We had contacted her earlier and set up a return appointment. When we came back things went pretty well. She was super accepting and open so hopefully she'll follow through on commitments and progress.

Today was transfers and Elder Palacios and I are both staying. I've been assigned to be a District Leader again. It's been over a year since the first time I got assigned to do that so we'll see if I can remember how to do it.

Remember to continue looking for service opportunities during this week of Lighting the World. I hope everyone had a good day of service on Saturday and a good uplifting sabbath day yesterday.

Love,
Elder Puzey
