Elder Bronson Scott Puzey

Well this week wasn't too eventful in the teaching department. We did teach a new investigator named Don on Tuesday. He is Catholic and his son goes to Notre Dame so he has a pretty good understanding about authority. He seemed surprisingly accepting of the different things that we taught and he had real questions to ask us. He wondered if John was the last Apostle and if he never died then why isn't the whole world trying to find John? He said that with all the technology we have and phones and pictures that it should be easy for us to find him. He was mostly joking at this point but he brings up a good point. I think we should all try to find John. He's probably got a lot of stories he could tell us throughout the years. Maybe next time we go to teach Don we can tell him about the three Nephites?? Just kidding. I'm really enjoying living here in Rancho Cucamonga. It reminds me of California which I guess makes sense but being in the desert for 10 months made...

So a few things happened this week: Monday: After we emailed we didn't have much to do so I went home and cleaned my fridge, the stove, toaster, blender, sink and my bathroom so it's looking pretty good now if I say so myself. Tuesday: We had Zone Conference which was basically just a repeat of MLC which meant an hour of watching videos I had already seen. Pretty boring but I brought some lifesaver mints and sour Skittles to keep myself awake. Wednesday: We were at the College again and after we did the booth we had a lesson with two of our YSA investigators named Dominic and Jeremy. They're pretty cool and it was a pretty good lesson about the Book of Mormon. Dominic has a superrrr low voice (much lower than mine) and it's so awesome haha! Thursday: Not much tbh Friday: We went to visit a YSA member referral. This was pretty cool because 1) we got to leave the mission because our area in the YSA covers outside the mission boundaries and 2) b...

This week I went on exchanges with one of the office elders and they have a very rich part of the city. They don't really have a whole lot of work so we spent like almost the whole day tracting. Elder Brimhall had me pick a random point on the GPS to go tracting and I just happened to pick one of the places with some hugeee houses. I should have taken some pictures but sadly I didn't.  Here are some updates from our area though: We were able to get a total of four new investigators. One was in the YSA ward that we got from our contacting efforts at Chaffey college named Dominic. We've really seen a lot of good things come from using the marked Book of Mormons to contact. The other three new investigators are in the Highland ward. We tracted into Jimmy right after Easter and he said that he was busy and invited us back for Friday. When Friday came around we were able to meet up with him and have a good lesson on the Restoration. We plan on seeing him this Friday as ...

Well so far my time in Rancho has been pretty good. My apartment is wayyyy bigger than my last one and I get my own bathroom so that's awesome. Elder Bryner and I are doing well, don't have too much time so here's a little recap of the week: Tuesday: We got a referral from one of the YSA members for his girlfriend. We all got together and had a good lesson. It's a miracle because 1) we got a member referral 2) we had a member present lesson 3) a new investigator for us (which my companion says they got ONE new investigator the whole of last transfer). Tuesday nights the YSA plays volleyball and some of the polly YSA kids also show up so it's a good time filled with good volleyball playing and laughs and people always bring their non-member friends so that's our time to shine. So after 4 months in Hesperia with Elder Nordgren we both got transferred out. Pretty sad cause we had a lot of good things happening the past couple of weeks or so. More on that later. I am down in Rancho Cucamonga as a Zone Leader still with my new companion Elder Bryner. Elder Bryner was a district leader in my zone the first transfer that I was in Hesperia so that's pretty cool. He's a great guy and a hard worker so I'm excited for these next few weeks with him!  Now for a little recap of my last week in Hesperia: We left the area with two people on date to get baptized. So some updates on some of the people we're working with: Literally everyone is the same as last week.. So some updates on some of the other people. Last week I talked about Tony and Lupe and we had an appointment with them on Saturday. I wasn't there cause I was on exchanges but Elder Nordgren said this about the lesson. Back story: last week when we taught them the first lesson we asked if we could come back and set an appointment for this Saturday (couple days ago). MOST of the time when we set appointments they fall through cause we show up and they don't answer or aren't home or "had something come up" but when Elder Nordgren and Elder Jeppson showed up they let them in and had hot chocolate, water, and some treats set up for them. This time some of the family was there to listen so that's three more investigators! They said the lesson went really well. Not a whole lot to report this week. We had zone conference on Wednesday and I was asked to conduct that. Luckily I didn't trip over any words or nothing. It was a pretty good conference, nothing too crazy happened.  Some updates on investigators/ recent converts: Vivian wasn't at church, don't really know why but she dropped her phone is some water so we can't get in contact with her. Luckily she's relying on her church friends so nothing to worry about there. Xavier didn't make it to church yesterday which is really sad. We had a good lesson with him on Tuesday and almost got him on date but he said he really needs to learn more about the church before committing. We're getting there, slowly.
