Week 76: Biking

Well this week consisted of a lot of biking. Honestly it wasn't too bad, felt good to get fresh (very polluted) California air. What was less cool was the fact that we thought we covered the south area when in reality we cover the north part of the ward. So everyday up till Saturday we had been biking about 3 miles into our area which consists of going across train tracts on a bridge which makes it up hill both ways. Funny enough the road with the bridge was called Mountain, and it sure felt like one.

Another headache was scrambling to get a baptism set up. Larry has been meeting with missionaries for a while and he's going to get baptized on Saturday. Well when I came into the area (7 days ago) I thought everything would be all lined up and ready to go but nope. On Wednesday I realized that he had still not been interviewed for baptism. We have a rule that people are supposed to be interviewed 10 days before they get baptized. Well it was Wednesday which is exactly 10 days before so we had to jump on the phone and call our district leaders and set up a time for them to come and interview him. Then we had to work with Larry to start planning the baptismal service. That led to calling a bunch of people to see if they could give talks and prayers and such. Then I had to call the building coordinator and reserve the building just an hour after a stake activity they're having at the church building. Then we had to get in contact with the person in charge of the baptismal jumpsuits. Then we had to send the full baptismal service outline to someone to print a test copy. It was all pretty hectic but we got everything nailed down and Larry is set for Saturday. He's pretty excited.

On Friday we had Elder Ringwood from the 70 come and tour the mission. He talked a lot about how we are here because of who we are and also that most of the miracles that happen, we won't see in this life. But he promised us that they happen and that a majority of our efforts might not come to fruition until many years and generations from now but that's okay.

On Saturday we got invited to the ward Halloween party and we were in charge of judging the costumes and the decorated trunks. Larry showed up and brought some pretty good chili.

Sunday was just a regular ol' Sunday. Somehow we had a double alarm clock failure which meant we got to ward council late. Oh well. It was sorta weird only having three hours of church since I've been going to two wards for the past 7 months.

We had to do some cleaning to the apartment to get it to my standards so now things are going pretty smoothly. We got the baptism figured out, the area figured out (kinda), the apartment clean. That should relieve some of the stress.

I hope everyone is doing good and loving life. Be safe trick or treating! Love y'all!

Love,
