Week 10: Stay Safe

Nothing too exciting has happened this week. The other day we went over to Tosin's house to try to fix his little refrigerator. One of our investigators taught us a little about refrigeration because he is taking an HVAC class, so we used our new knowledge to help out our best. Afterwards we went outside and saw a little memorial on the street and he told us that a few days ago there was a man working on a car to make a little bit of money for his family. He had to lift up the car but didn't have anything but a little bottle-neck jack and no jack stands. Sadly the car fell onto him and he didn't have any way of getting out or getting help. It was a strong reminder to me of how fast life can change or end. That's why it's so important that we always live a life in such a way that we are prepared to enter into the rest of God and not enter into an eternal regret. One of the ways that we can always be ready is relying on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Tosin has been an amazing example of this. He told us that now that he has been baptized and confirmed, he is not afraid to pass on from his mortal tribulations and stand before God and Jesus. He has faith that I can only hope to one day have. (He has had 5 strokes and can't see too well "I cannot see the finger in front of my face" - Tosin but has driven to church based on what turns the Spirit told him to take).

While I was reading in the Book of Mormon there was another story about faith that I loved. In Helaman, it talks about Nephi and his unwearyingness in preaching the gospel. Because of his faith and the fact that he never stopped teaching and preaching he was given great power. The Lord tells him that whatever he says will come to pass and he is also given the sealing power. As missionaries and as members we should be unwearying in preaching the gospel to everyone. If we do so we will be blessed forever. The best people for the missionaries to teach are member referrals so don't be afraid to share this amazing message with both friends and family, your reward in Heaven will be greater than anything worldly.

Love y'all (10% of the way there)

Carson always refers to himself as awesome and signs his emails to Bronson, Mr. Awesome.
Can't believe Bronson found the perfect picture for it!
